 ePAPER displays / Sunlight readable display



ePAPER displays are widely used in electronic readers, newspapers where low power and sunlight readability is important. These ePaper displays are high contrast, sunlight readable, wide view angle displays. The ePaper display is based on Joseph Jacobson technology, which has been in use since 1990 and involves white and black particles suspended in transparent viscous polymer which in turn are embedded in microcapsules of different sizes. The microcapsules are aligned by briefly applying an electric field that can then be turned off. Due to the viscosity of the polymer, ePapers are able to store their content for many years without further power consumption. Application include medical, logistics, aviation, automotive, retail and Internet of Things.

EA ePA20-A 2.0" ePAPER display 172x72 pixel with SPI Interface

This EA ePA20-A ePaper display is available without MOQ. The display has a high contrast and wide viewing angle. Very slim profile of only 1.18mm. The interface for this ePAPER display is SPI. The EA ePA20-A is used on the EA eLABEL20-A and can be used for evaluation.

EA eLABEL20-A 2.0" 172x72 pixel with SPI, I2C and serial Interface

The EA eLABEL20-A can be used as an evaluation board for the EA ePA20-A display or as an intelligent ePAPER display with SPI, I2C and serial interface. Supplied with 8 built-in fonts. All characters can be enlarged from 2mm to 20mm. When the EA eLABEL20-A is plugged into the EA 9780-3USB programmer, bitmaps and macro programs can be stored onboard the display. Onboard EEPROMcan store up to 256 bitmaps, macro programs and fonts.. DIsplay is zero power readable. The onboard-micro processor is powered from a 3V coil cell. The micro processor wakes up from sleep and re-writes display content.
